NEW YORK – A Cartier Star bangle bracelet, a Cartier Panther tassel necklace, and a pair of Van Cleef & Arpels butterfly-form earrings will compete for top-lot status at Jasper52’s Designer Jewelry and Watches sale, which will be held on Friday, May 12 at 8 pm Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The 621-lot sale is simply brimming with an abundance of choices by great names. Watch offerings include an 18K gold and pave diamond Cartier Diablo; a Bulgari Tubogas serpent bracelet watch in three colors of 18K gold; a vintage Audemars Piguet 18K gold watch with eight carats of diamonds; and a Van Cleef & Arpels 18K gold and diamond Liane collection bracelet watch.

Among the many, many statement pieces included in the May 12 auction is a Van Cleef & Arpels 18K gold, diamond, ruby, emerald and sapphire flower pin brooch, rendered in bold curves that resemble a thick tied ribbon; an 18K white gold zebra brooch by Michele Della Valle, with the mother and baby zebra detailed in white and black diamonds; a Roberto Coin large wide bamboo bracelet in 18K gold and diamonds; a pair of Cactus de Cartier earrings in 18K gold and diamonds, with the prickly cactuses represented by aventurines; a Hermes ring in 18K rose gold and diamonds that showcases a large, pale, almost clear amethyst that reveals the decorative structure under the stone; and, perfect for those born under the astrological sign of Leo, a pair of Elizabeth Gage 18K gold and green enamel earrings that each feature peridots carved to look like the faces of lions.

Fluttering to highlight status is a pair of butterfly-form Van Cleef & Arpels earrings, fashioned from 18K rose gold, diamonds and mother-of-pearl. Designed for pierced ears, they sport two diamonds of VVS1 clarity and E color, with a total weight of .31 of a carat, as well as eight pieces of mother-of-pearl. These earrings come with a Van Cleef & Arpels box and certificate of authenticity and are estimated at $12,000-$14,000.

The first of two highlights from the house of Cartier is a Panther tassel necklace in 18K gold, diamond, peridot, onyx and lacquer. In particular, it contains 113 round brilliant cut diamonds of VVS1 clarity and E color that together weigh 1.13 carats. Two peridots appear as the panther’s eyes and an onyx serves as its nose. Offered with an original Cartier box and a Cartier service paper, the necklace carries an estimate of $40,000-$48,000.

The other Cartier highlight is a show-stopping Star bangle bracelet – an 18K gold beauty studded with diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires, and estimated at $28,000-$34,000. All the stones feature round cuts and the diamonds, in particular, are of VVS1 clarity and F-H color. The piece is offered with a Cartier box and a certificate of authenticity.
