Jeffrey Evans auctions awash in Victorian glass, lamps Jan. 22-23

MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates opens its 2021 auctions with a presentation of Victorian glass and lighting on Jan. 22-23. The Friday session will feature lighting as well as an assortment of glass dating from the 19th and 20th centuries. The Saturday session with focus on Victorian and opalescent glass in many forms and patterns. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.

Friday’s session, Day One, beginning at 9:30 a.m. EST, features desirable lighting including many opalescent examples and rare Princess Feather stand lamps with massive colored fonts (above). Also, a selection of miniature lamps and a collection of Aladdin lamps and parts finalize the lighting portion of the sale.

The session will transition into a wide variety of glass including rare Findlay Floradine and Onyx examples including a Floradine covered butter dish.

A wide selection of Fry glass including a No. 11 jug with Jade festooning and an opalescent cover will be offered. The day will conclude with a selection of pressed glass including several styles of candelabras and finishing with toothpick holders and salt shakers.

Saturday’s session, Day Two, beginning at 9:30 a.m., features a fine collection of opalescent water pitchers including Ribbed Snowflake, Ribbed Herringbone and Arabian Nights examples.

A large selection of condiment articles will be offered featuring many sugar shakers including Mount Washington Fig, Criss-Cross and Hobbs Coral/Peachblow examples.

The day will finish with a variety of blown Victorian glass showcasing many Victorian forms including syrup pitchers, cruets, epergnes, bride’s bowl, water sets and tumblers.
