Jeffrey Evans posts colorful lineup for 20th spring glass sale May 22
MT. CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates will conduct their 20th annual spring auction of 18th and 19th century glass and lighting on Wednesday, May 22. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
The sale will feature the Larry Steiner collection, Oradell, N.J. Steiner was president of the National American Glass Club from 2005 to 2009. A number of his pieces have extensive provenance and publication history. Other consignments to the auction include property from important New York and New England private collections; and a North Carolina estate collection.
The auction consists of free-blown and pattern-molded wares including Thomas Cains examples; pillar-molded wares including many rare colored examples; bottles including bitters, figurals and flasks; a collection of colored pressed flint glass including many rare vases and candlesticks.
Early lighting will include whale oil and fluid lamps; early kerosene items including rare twisted latticinio, cut overlays and Sandwich Onions.
The lacy-period pressed glass offerings including open salts and colored children’s toys; a rare boxed set of Christmas salts; plus more.
