MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. – The incomparable Hilda Fried collection was never a secret to those who admire fine antique sewing tools and accoutrements. The late Mrs. Fried, who began amassing 18th, 19th and early 20th-century sewing antiques after the Second World War, enjoyed exhibiting aspects of her collection annually at the Park Avenue Armory and Madison Square Gardens antique shows. Now collectors will have the opportunity to bid on any of the items in this exceptional collection, at Jeffrey S. Evans’ auction slated for Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010.
