MT. CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates’ annual winter glass and lighting auction will offer a wide variety of 18th to 20th century American and European wares on Jan. 26 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Consisting of over 950 lots featuring property deaccessioned by the Strong Museum of Play, Rochester, New York, to benefit the collections fund; part three of the Culver Collection, Tom and Michael Andrews, Berlin, Maryland; selections from the Don Evans collection, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; selections from a prominent Riverside, Iowa collection; the Francis Ryan collection, Plattsburg, New York; and the final installment of the Jim Lawrence and late Denver Smallwood collection, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

N. Packwood and Co. rented the cutting shop at the former Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. site in Sandwich, Massachusetts. A 200-plus piece collection of Nehemiah Packwood, cut glass mostly on Dorflinger blanks, has descended in the family. The collection will be sold at the auction.

The auction will also include selections of 19th century American free-blown, pattern-molded, and pillar-molded wares; early American pressed glass including cup plates and other lacy; whale oil and fluid lighting; selection of 18th and 19th century Bohemian and other Continental glass; cologne bottles including cut overlay; large selection of Victorian lighting including opalescent, banquet, and parlor; rare syrup pitchers including Swastika and Aztec patterns; large collection of glass and china salt shakers including art glass, opalescent, Kate Greenaway; collection of glass and china open salts; toothpick holders; collections of pink slag Inverted Fan & Feather and Bluerina; other Victorian glass of all types including opalescent; Dorflinger Kalana glass; EAPG including ruby stained; collection of Fry ovenware; and the final offering of the Barbara Sisson collection of Degenhart owls and dogs.
