Jenack to sell stamps, coins at auction Jan. 28

CHESTER, N.Y. – William Jenack Estate Appraisers and Auctioneers will present a double-auction weekend with a sale at their New York facility and online bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28-29, commencing at 11 a.m. Eastern.

The Jan. 28 auction is a specialty sale featuring U.S. and foreign stamps and coins.

The coin section of the sale will feature several lots of U.S. gold, silver and platinum mint proof sets mostly dating from the 1990s and earlier 2000s.

Lots of numismatic interest will include a 1907 U.S. gold $10 Liberty coin, a 1905S U.S. gold $5 half eagle, a 1922 U.S. $20 gold double eagle, a 1997 platinum $100 American Eagle proof bouillon coin and one lot of (four) U.S. platinum Eagle coin set. Also in the offering will be several lots of Franklin, Liberty and Kennedy silver dollars, which will sell for their silver content more than their numismatic value.

The stamp arena will offer many lots of Scandinavian countries Norway and the Faroe Islands which will include classics and years 1855-1970s – Scott Catalog No. 1, 2-5, 7, 13, 15, 17-21 and Faroe Islands No. 7-52. Denmark issues including Scott Catalog No. 25-33, 34, 35, 37, 16-20, 24. Iceland Scott Catalog No. 1, 44B, 74, 85, 98, 140, 143, 149. Danish West Indies 1856-1915, Scott Catalog No. 1, 2, 3, 5-58, J1-J8, 13, 20, 31-39 and others. Sweden issues including Scott Catalog No. 13 unused, No. 16, 27, 17, 19, 22 and 24. Greenland 1938-1975, Scott Catalog No. 10-18, 19-27 and more. Finland issues including Scott Catalog No. 16, 24, 36, 55, 56 and 69. Sweden Scott Catalog No. 2, 6-12A. Perhaps the rarest stamp in the Scandinavian section is a Denmark issue Scott Catalog No. 21 with a value of $3,250.

U. S. stamps being offered will include Trans Mississippi issues Scott Catalog No. 285-290, Madison $2 Scott Catalog #262 (unused), Scott Catalog No. 187, 188, 190, 191, 450, 453, 461 and many others to numerous to list.
