AMESBURY, Mass. – After a cold, snowy winter John McInnis Auctioneers will present a three-day sale, April 24, 25 and 26, that is sure to remedy cabin fever, says auctioneer John McInnis.

LiveAuctioneers.com will provide absentee and Internet live bidding. All three sessions will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern.

Day one will feature a wide assortment of fine decorative arts from an exceptional pietra dura plaque and Chinese bronzes to an exceptional selection of Meissen, silver and jewelry.

Featured is an early Chinese bronze spirit tablet, possibly 17th-18th century, resting on the back of a dragon turtle, and cast with two small, sinuous dragons. Five rows of calligraphy include the date for the first year of the Yongle reign, which corresponds to 1403. “It is just one of several nice Asian bronzes in the sale,” said McInnis, who estimates the item will sell for $20,000-$30,000.

One of the top paintings in Friday’s session is Still Life with Fruit on a Marble Table by Severin Roesen (1815-1872), 28 by 35 inches. The oil on canvas painting is estimated at $20,000-$40,000.

Among the sterling silver lots on Day 2 is a circa 1877 hand-hammered Tiffany and Co. water pitcher with applied water lilies in the Japanesque style.

Sunday, April 26, Day 3 of the McInnis Cabin Fever Auction will be focused on presidential items including Kennedy, Lincoln and Washington. A rare item is one of the two presidential blankets used in the presidential limousine until Nov. 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

For those fans of the Camelot Era there is an amazing selection of photographs including 14 lots of unpublished negatives featuring John and Jackie Kennedy, their wedding party and images of the them cutting their cake.

The auction will take place at the John McInnis Auctioneers gallery located at 76 Main St. in Amesbury. For details call John McInnis Auctioneers at 978-388-0400.
