AMESBURY, Mass. – John McInnis Auctioneers announces the highly anticipated auction of William “Bill” Johnson’s personal collection on July 10-11. Available for purchase will be antiques, artifacts and treasures amassed over the last four decades. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide absentee and Internet live bidding.
Johnson was a well-known Kennebunk, Maine, auctioneer and collector of antiques since 1976. He died in February 2014. He had been acknowledged for his work in such publications as Yankee Magazine, who proclaimed him “The Keeper” for his extensive collecting habit. He was also featured on the television show American Pickers.
This diverse sale will offer Americana, Asian, Victorian, Native American, black Americana, country, advertising, lighting, clocks, cast iron, stoneware, redware, mochaware, paintings, presidential signatures, nautical, silver, pocket watches, and toys and banks.
Highlights include a Walter Durfee tubular bell-chime tall clock (below), a Tiffany Studios counter-balance desk lamp (above) and an early 1930s Dodge pedal car manufactured by Steelcraft, which was featured on an American Pickers episode.
This two-day auction will begin at 11 a.m. both days at McInnis’ gallery located at 76 Main St.
