LOS ANGELES – Admirers of the best-selling novelist and journalist Judith Krantz may bid on treasured items from her Bel Air estate on Thursday, April 8 at 9 am Pacific time. Hosted by Abell Auction Co., the online-only sale will offer fine art, furniture, modern prints, and other fine collectibles and personal mementos. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Krantz is best known for authoring romance novels such as Scruples, which remained on the New York Times best-seller list for more than a year, and Princess Daisy, which also topped the best-seller list. Krantz’s 10 books represented more than 80 million copies in print in more than 50 languages at the time of her death in June 2019.

During Krantz’s lifetime and her 53-year marriage to the late Steve Krantz, she acquired belongings that reflected her unique tastes and lifestyle.  Highlighted items at the April 8 sale include Mother & Child with Donkey, an ink wash painting by Reuven Rubin, estimated at $1,800-$2,500; a Charles and Ray Eames lounge chair and ottoman, estimated at $1,000-$1,500; a lithograph poster after Marc Chagall, estimated at $800-$1,200; and a Judith Krantz decoupage assembly estimated at $300-$400.
