Julia Roberts’ costumes have top billing at Premiere Props auction Dec. 17

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Costume dresses worn by Julia Roberts as the evil queen in the movie Mirror Mirror Evil Queen, a screen outfit worn by the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman in his Oscar-winning-performance as Capote, and the Hawaiian print shirt and shorts worn by Justin Timberlake in the film Alpha Dog will all be part of Premiere Props’ auction Saturday, Dec. 17. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The sale of the collection of props and costumes from some of the most classic and blockbuster movies and TV shows, will be held live at in Premiere Props’ gallery. The auction will get underway at 11 a.m. Pacific time. The sale of more than 500 lots is being called a Hollywood VIP Auction.

Both of the evil queen dresses worn by Julia Roberts in Mirror Mirror Evil Queen were designed by the late Oscar-winning costume designer Eiko Ishioka and made by Eric Winterling. The signature dress – gold with a white lace design, long sleeves, rhinestone detailing and shoes (above) – is expected to bring $10,000-$15,000. The other dress is salmon with gold leaf in a plastic crystal design, long sleeved, with a matching long skirt and even a wardrobe tag (est. $5,000-$10,000).

The SS Sage Hawaiian print button-front shirt that the singer-actor Justin Timberlake wore as “Frankie” in Alpha Dog carries an estimate of $800-$1,200. The shirt (below) depicts surfers and palm trees. The lot also includes the turquoise and olive Mossimo board shorts the actor wore with the shirt.

The screen-worn, charcoal grey Brooks Brothers cable-knit cardigan wool sweater, along with a burgundy polka-dot silk scarf worn by the late actor Philip Seymour Hoffman in the 2005 movie Capote, in which Hoffman portrayed with uncanny accuracy writer Truman Capote, is expected to fetch $500-$700. The cardigan (below) has five buttons, two pockets and a large collar.

Items from the movie Immortals and the actor Henry Cavill (“Theseus”) will include a bloody-appearing costume with silver plastic chest plate with leather ties, samurai shoulders, a leather belt, burgundy tunic and skirt, with wardrobe tag (est. $1,500-$2,000); and a screen-used sword, silver with gold metal handle and brown leather sheath, 25 1/2 inches long (est. $2,000-$4,000).

Props from the Underworld movies will feature a screen-used brown wood Lycan crossbow with three bows and three arrows, approximately 26 1/2 inches long, from Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (est. $2,000-$4,000); and a screen-used Death Dealer crossbow, all wood and foam construction, from Underworld: Evolution Death Dealer, 47 inches long (est. $600-$800).
