LOS ANGELES – Julien’s, the California auction house known for its high-profile celebrity sales, will present a timed, online-only auction of rock ’n’ roll legend Neil Young’s collections starting at 11 a.m. Pacific time / 2 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, Dec. 17. Absentee bidding is already underway on LiveAuctioneers.com, the global online platform that will also enable real-time bidding as the sale is taking place.

Young’s passion for motoring is underscored in his 2009 album Fork in the Road, which contains such songs as Get Behind the Wheel, Hit the Road and Fuel Line. Several of his stellar classic cars will be featured in the auction including a 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible (above) and a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Coupe. Features on the ’49 Caddy include heating and ventilating system, power windows, fender skirts, whitewall tires with chrome wheel discs, push-button radio and fog lights.

The auction of more than over 400 lots of model trains, recording gear, clothing, furniture and memorabilia.

Collectors will have the opportunity to bid on an array of studio used electronics, gear and instruments including microphones, Sony and Yamaha electronics, mixers, tuners, harmonicas, road cases, drumsticks and more.

Representing Neil Young’s passion for trains, the auction will also include almost 200 lots of Lionel trains featuring locomotive and freight car groups, accessory groups, display cases and power supply layouts.
