Kaleidoscope of colors will dazzle in gemstones sale April 3
NEW YORK – Jasper52 will present an online auction of diverse loose gemstones auction on Wednesday, April 3. The 388-lot auction boasts a variety of cuts, stones and colors. From certified diamonds to lustrous emeralds and more, bidders will find a unique treasure among a kaleidoscope of colors. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.
Topping the list of gems are a half dozen pear-cut diamonds of 1+ carats. The finest is a 1.5 carat diamond of VS1 clarity and H color. The diamond is IGL (International Gemological Laboratories) certified (est. $8,000-$10,000).
A scarce padparadscha sapphire in the auction is from Sri Lanka. The 1.61 carat gemstone boasts a pink-orange color that has not been enhanced by heat treatment (est. $900-$1,100). It has been certified by a reputed European laboratory.
The Portuguese discovered tourmaline in Brazil by in the 16th century. A 4.59 carat tourmaline in the auction has a faceted square emerald cut looks “eye clean” (est. $700-$800).

Also mined in Brazil is large natural blue topaz, emerald cut and 33.6 carats. It measures 20.00 x 15.20 x 10.30 mm and is VVS clarity (est. $350-$400).
A certified natural blue sapphire in a faceted cushion cut weighs in at 1.57 carats ($900-$1,100).

Opal is from the Greek opallios, meaning “to see a change.” The 6.95 carat opal pear cabochon in the auction shows flashes of colorful brilliance that change with the angle of observation (est. $500-$600).
