PHILADELPHIA – Kamelot’s June 17 and 18 Town and Country Estate Auction runs the gamut from fine and decorative art, jewelry, antique furniture, lighting, garden antiques, textiles and much more. Over 1,000 lots will be offered during the two-day sale, which begins at 11 a.m. Eastern on both days. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide absentee and Internet live bidding; there will be no live gallery bidding available.
Many of the items in the sale were consigned from the living estate of American writer, pianist and educator Harrison Gradwell Slater. Slater has written both fiction and nonfiction, meticulously researched, on the lives of Mozart and Chopin, with Night Music and Nocturne being the most notable of his works. In addition to his music and writing, Slater is artistic director and chairman of the Peabody Mason International Piano Competition. Slater’s career took him all across the globe, and in his travels he acquired a collection of treasures among which fine artworks, decorative objects and accessories, jewelry, clocks, and fine furnishings, are included.
