Kensington Estate Auction features art pottery, historic photos Jan. 28

CLINTONDALE, N.Y. – Kensington Estate Auction will feature American and European paintings, British and Dutch decorative art, photograph albums, advertising posters, graffiti art and sculptures, wood carvings, silver and rugs in a Jan. 28 auction. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
Kensington Estate Auction will offer a collection of 16 pieces of Moorcroft pottery as well as Velsen Dutch pottery, Utretch pottery of the artist Jan van Ham and an Art Nouveau Arnhemsche Faience garniture clock set. Not to be overlooked is the Gouda pottery and the Saturday Evening Girls pottery.
Artists highlighting the painting and illustration offerings include Heinrich Lefler, Benish Mininberg, Samuel Adler, Ludwig Bemelmans, Judith Lindbloom New York Abstract School, Theo van Hoytema, Stan Wright, Leopoldo Mariotti, Maurice Sendak, Winsor McCay, Elijah Silverman, Adolf Dehn, LA II (Angel Ortiz) and Lin Streeter.

The variety of offerings are reflected in a antique Japanese root wood sculpture, erotic netsukes, a Tiffany Studios Zodiac lamp, a Russian icon, a Ron Kron vintage doll, a Dartmoor England elf pixie letter rack, a folk art carved monk-head cane and several semi-antique Persian rugs.
Photographic offerings traverse time and space, from the missionary photograph album of Colonial India dated 1906 to a post-WW I American military photograph album and a 1930s All-American football album.

Works from the Orient include a Chinese export silver mustard jar by Hung Chong, Japanese bronze dragon vases by Yoshida Zo, a silver dragon-head opium pipe, an antique Tibetan flint pouch, a Lord Hanuman monkey god polychrome tobacco box, a collection of Buddhist miniature paintings and several Burmese carved lacquered deity covered boxes.
