DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Kodner Galleries’ Nov. 28 auction will feature an important collection of Amphora Teplitz Art Nouveau pottery. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
The private collection of more than 300 pieces was built over the past 40 years by a Chicago couple now residing in Boca Raton, Fla. Many fine examples of the most sought out Amphora including Paul Daschel, Riessner Stellmacher and Kessel and Ernst Wahliss are represented in the well-curated collection. This fine group of Art Nouveau works was amassed from auctions, private collectors, dealers and shows in the U.S. and abroad.
Among the top lots is a 13-inch-high Amphora Turn Teplitz princess vase (above) by Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel, which has an $8,000-$13,000 estimate.
Another standout is a 17-inch Amphora Art Nouveau pottery vase (below) by Werke Reissner that features dragon relief (est. $8,000-$10,000).
This auction is a great opportunity for the established Amphora collector to add a few choice pieces or for the beginner to begin a collection.
