LOS ANGELES – Kruse GWS Auctions, the world-record-breaking memorabilia and royal artifacts auction house, has announced its first auction of 2020 – The Lunar New Year Royal Family Auction – to take place Saturday, Jan. 18, beginning at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Never before has the auction house offered such an extensive collection of rare and unique artifacts from royal families that date as far back as the 14th century. Each item is museum quality and distinguishes themselves as some of the most important Vietnamese royal family artifacts and art to be sold at auction. The auction includes 282 lots of prehistoric jades, green jade, black jade and magnificent porcelains that chronicle the Imperial Vietnamese history from a Vietnamese royal family and pieces used for the principle palace shrine are part of this magnificent collection. The auction will also include fine jewelry, timepieces and iconic fashion designer accessories.

Highlights from the Vietnamese Royal family that are significant and only offered through Kruse GWS Auctions include; Emperor Khai Dinh’s imperial office black jade censer used in the office of the Nguyen Emperor; a Khai Dinh lidded jade ink pad from Imperial Study Hall, a Vietnamese Emperor Khai Dinh’s personal green jade lidded longevity vase from Imperial Study Hall, an 18th century Van Tho Palace Bleu de Hue porcelain charger and stand with a “Khanh Xuan Thi Ta” mark from the Vietnamese royal family, 16th century Cu Lao Cham shipwreck Annamese white glazed ceramic ewer with iron brown spots and a dragon-form handle, and an artifact from the Cu Lao Cham shipwreck. Born Nguyễn Phúc Vĩnh Thụy, Bao Dia, was the last emperor of Vietnam. His personal carved solid jade cigarette holder will be offered as well as a 14th century Longquan matte green celadon glaze lotus bowl with an unglazed rim from An Dinh Palace in a wooden silk-lined box from the empress’s personal collection. This collection has been handed down through the family for generations.

The impressive dowry also includes Empress Duc Tu Cung’s Vietnamese carved bamboo prayers gong; a Ming Dynasty cream phoenix and dragon unity vase with Yongle reign mark, a 14th century Tibetan bronze dragon censer with white jade carvings and gemstone inlay and many other items dating back as far as the 14th century from a long lineage of the Nguyen Dynasty descendants.

Luxury is redefined with the jewelry, timepieces and iconic fashion accessories offered in the Lunar Year Royal Family auction and are among the most extensive array of gemstones and accessories Kruse GWS Auctions will offer this year. A 36.20-carat GIA certified tourmaline pendant with a $425,000 appraisal and a 10.80-carat VS2 light yellow and diamond ring with a $265,000 appraisal are only two of many of the exquisite jewelry pieces that will be offered in the sale.

More highlights include a 26.50-carat yellow-orange and white diamond cuff bracelet; a new Rolex Daytona watch with its box and papers, a 50.75 tanzanite ring with a $180,000 appraisal.

The auction also includes luxury accessories to offer modern selections to the bidders. For one, the ultra-rare Hermes 35cm Noir Novillo leather Birkin with gold hardware that is brand new in the box, a Hermes Kelly alligator bracelet and bag, Chanel and Gucci handbags and so many more rare luxury items that include some of the most valuable jewelry and fashion accessories ever to be offered by Kruse GWS Auctions.
