NEW YORK – On Saturday, August 13 at 10 am Eastern time, La Belle Epoque Auction Gallery will conduct its first sale since suffering extreme water damage in the spring of this year. Dubbed the Multi-Estates Summer Auction, it will feature almost 300 lots of fine art, decorative items, furniture, Mid-century Modern pieces and silver. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The water damage was caused by a small fire in the space above La Belle Epoque, which set off sprinkler systems for an extended period of time and caused major flooding in the auction gallery’s space, with portions of the ceiling literally caving in. Tragically, a world-class inventory of original vintage posters from the La Belle Epoque Vintage Posters gallery, another business belonging to the owners, was severely damaged – literally hundreds of exquisite posters, most irreplaceable, which took decades to curate and collect.
