HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. – Leland Little Auctions will present the lifelong collection of Keith and Caroline Gray of Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday, Nov. 4. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Keith and Caroline Gray were passionate about antiques, art and history. Their collection was their hobby, passion and business. They enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, and visiting and participating in numerous antique shows and auctions over the years.

In the 1960s they opened The Thistle, which eventually led Caroline to become one of the most respected and sought-after personal property appraisers in the Charlotte area for decades. She was a member of the International Society of Appraisers for over 30 years, serving as president of the North Carolina chapter in 2000. She also served as president of the North Carolina Association of Dealers in Antiques in 1993. Keith and Caroline were active members of the Mint Museum in Charlotte for over 30 years and were charter members of the Mint Museum Dwelle Society. Caroline served on the Mint Museum board of trustees and the acquisitions board. She served as president of the Delhome Service League twice and was also a docent. Caroline and a friend introduced and implemented the popular and successful Potters Market Invitational, held at the Mint Museum annually, now in its 13th year. Caroline was a lecturer, teacher and appraiser, eager to share her extensive knowledge of material culture.

The Grays touched many lives through their generosity and kindness, helping many people and successful businesses throughout the years. Through their hard work, the Grays created a fulfilling and happy life for themselves and their family.

Leland Little Auctions will offer 600 lots at their Hillsborough, N.C., gallery on Saturday, Nov. 4. Categories will include historical documents, maps, books, Asian art, as well as English and Chinese export porcelain to name a few.
