NAPLES, Fla. – Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, one of the world’s leading fine art auction houses, will hold its Naples Winter Auction in Florida on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 12 noon Eastern. The Chicago-based firm opened its Naples location in January 2010. Florida has since proven to be a prime location for the acquisition of property from museum and private collections, as well as prominent estates.

LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding for the 500-lot auction.

Highlights from the upcoming sale include a sizable collection of art glass and Tiffany Studios bronze, such as Lot 209, a Tiffany Studios bronze and glass double student lamp with a presale estimate of $15,000-$25,000 and Lot 241, a Steuben glass and 18K gold Partridge in a Pear Tree with a presale estimate of $1,500-$2,500.

A variety of fine porcelain will be included in the sale, including Lot 301, a Chinese porcelain One Hundred Deer vase, which is conservatively estimated at $3,000-$5,000, and Lot 162, a pair of Staffordshire porcelain spaniels with a presale estimate of $200-$400.

Seventy-five lots of fine silver will open the sale, including Lot 29, a Frank M. Whiting & Co. sterling silver teapot and burner with a presale estimate of $1,500-$2,500.

The sale will close with a session of fine art composed of bronze sculpture, vintage posters, paintings and works on paper. Notable works include Lot 410, a lead and intaglio collage print by Louis Nevelson, which carries a presale estimate of $1,500-$2,500; and Lot 334, a Jules Cheret vintage poster, offered at $1,000-$2,000.

In addition to the Naples office, Leslie Hindman has recently opened an office in Palm Beach, Fla.

“The overwhelming response we’ve received since opening in Florida is reflected in the amount and the quality of consignments to our Naples auctions,” President and CEO Leslie Hindman said. “We look forward to building upon the tradition of excellence established in Chicago by offering auctions in the South with the collector in mind.”
