Leslie Hindman’s Marketplace sale an eclectic bonanza March 25-26

CHICAGO – For more than a decade, Marketplace auctions have been a staple of the Leslie Hindman Auctioneers experience. Known for eclectic offerings, the company’s online only Marketplace auctions feature accessories and decorative fine art from estates, collectors and institutions, perfect for both the novice and seasoned collector. The March 25-26 Marketplace auctions offer many such opportunities.

LiveAuctioneers.com will provide absentee and Internet live bidding. Wednesday’s session consisting of nearly 500 lots will begin at 10 a.m. Central time. Thursday’s session, also at 10 a.m., consists of 541 lots.

Highlights include:

  • A 17th century Dutch oil painting in the manner of Adam Pynacker of an Italianate landscape with travelers, 34 x 48 inches. Estimate: $1,000-$2,000;
  • Russian silver large spice tower, circa 1910, 13 1/4 inches high. Estimate: $1,000-$2,000;
  • Miniature Elizabethan-style manor house by Richard G. Schurtz, Pittsburgh, circa 1990s, 48 1/4 inches high by 78 inches wide by 23 inches deep. Estimate: $1,500-$2,500;
  • Galle fire polished cameo glass vase with thistle decoration, 15 inches high. Estimate: $1,500-$2,500;
  • English cobalt porcelain vase and cover, late 19th century, 34 1/2 inches high. Estimate: $1,500-$2,500;
  • George II walnut tall case clock by T. Reynold, Oxford, 85 1/4 inches. Estimate: $1,000-$2,000.
  • Frank Gallo (American, b. 1933), resin sculpture of ‘Seated Nude,’ 1964, 29 1/2 inches high. Estimate: $1,500-$2,500;
  • Pair of Chinese cloisonne horses, each depicted standing with one hoof raised, having allover scrolling polychrome decoration on a blue ground, 32 inches high. Estimate: $1,000-$2,000;
  • William Keith (American, 1838-1911), ‘Forest Path,’ oil on board, 25 1/2 x 23 1/2 inches. Estimate: $1,000-$2,000;
  • An Italian oak parlor suite 17th century and later consisting of a settee and two open armchairs with carved animal form finials and padded backs and seats. Estimate: $1,000-$2,000.
