HOUSTON – On Wednesday, Aug. 29, Lewis & Maese will auction more than 200 lots of new designer furnishings during the Home Is Where the Heart Is charity auction to benefit the Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc. Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.

The furniture and accessories were contributed to Boys & Girls Country of Houston by a benefactor who asks to remain anonymous. Interior Designer Bill Stubbs is the honorary chair of the fundraiser auction, which will commence at 6:30 p.m. Central Time.

A sampling of the furniture manufacturers represented in the auction includes Brown Jordan, Christopher Guy, Julian Chichester, Hickory Chair, Ferguson Copeland and Century. The auction items include furniture for every room in a home, as well as pool furniture, home theater seating, and spa furniture, art, objets d’art, light fixtures, lamps, floor coverings and mirrors.

Additional furniture manufacturers include Ferguson Copeland, Freestyle, Bolier & Company, Hooker, Bassett, Feizy Rugs, Michael Weiss by Vanguard, Hickory Chair and Barrington.

“Boys and Girls Country of Houston serves a very important role in our area,” said David Lewis, co-partner of Lewis & Maese. “There are approximately 90 young people who have found a safe place to grow up, a stable family life with reliable, supportiveand kind adults; and opportunities to discover — and reach — their potential in life. This auction and the preview party are important to these children’s very futures.”

An auction preview party and accessories sale at Lewis & Maese, featuring a lively presentation on the world of interior design by Bill Stubbs, is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 23, from 6-8:30 p.m. It is open to the public. The entry fee is $20 per person and will be donated to Boys and Girls Country along with the proceeds of any of the evening’s sales.

“This charity preview party and auction is a win-win event,” said Stubbs. “Interior designers, restaurateurs, business owners, hoteliers and savvy shoppers will have an opportunity to buy exquisite furniture and accessories at good prices. Most importantly, Boys and Girls Country will receive funds to subsidize its operating budget. I really want to encourage the design industry, the business community and the generous people of Houston to support this important fundraiser.”

About Boys and Girls Country of Houston:

Boys and Girls Country provides a home for 88 children at any one time. For the most part, the children are not candidates for adoption. Fortunately, many sibling groups have an opportunity to grow up together at the home. The children attend public school and live in a family environment with a “teaching parent” couple.
