SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Turner Auctions + Appraisals will present a Fine Art, Asian Art, Jewelry & More auction on Saturday, April 16. The sale offers a wide range of American and European paintings from the 17th to the 21st centuries; noted artists include Ira Yeager, Salvador Dali, Thomas Hill, William Posey Silva, Marjorie Jane Reed and German Grobe. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Highlights of the upcoming sale include Mountain Landscape with Flowers, an undated, signed oil on canvas by the California artist Ira Yeager (American, 1938-2022), who died in January at the age of 83. The painting is in good condition, and it is estimated at $4,000-$6,000.

Equally compelling is a signed 1974 four-sheet lithograph by Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989). Titled The Puzzle of Life, it bears the number 6 of 250, per its gallery certificate. It has no condition issues, and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Beverly Hills Galleries, dated 1980, as well as receipts of purchase. An anonymous donor has consigned the work as a gift to the Friends of the Yountville Library in California in support of its programs. The Dali lithograph carries an estimate of $2,000-$3,000.

A strong selection from the Asian art on offer is Ando Hiroshige’s (Japanese, 1797-1858) Tsuchiyama: Spring Rain (Tsuchiyama, haru no ame), from the series Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road. The woodcut was published by Takenouchi Magohachi (Hoeido) and is estimated at $800-$1,200.

Jewelry choices in the April 16 auction include a ruby, diamond and 18K gold cluster ring set with 18 round-, pear- and oval-shaped rubies that together weigh 3.99 carats, and also 34 round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 1.45 carats. The ring fits a size 8 ¼ finger, and its estimate is $1,200-$1,500.

Rounding out the highlights is a French micro-mosaic snuff box that dates to the late 18th century or the early 19th century. The lid is graced with an 18K gold-bordered micro-mosaic scene of a castle bridge with figures by a river; the interior of the box and the lid have 18K gold inserts. Marks on the box suggest that it dates to between 1798 and 1809. It is estimated at $800-$1,200.
