Little Nemo auction draws on history of comic art April 13

TURIN, Italy – Little Nemo Auction House will devote its second 2013 auction to original comic arts and illustrations. On Saturday, April 13, Little Nemo will be offering an exclusive auction with 351 lots that retrace the history of comic art. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding.

The sections will be historic comic art and will include originals by Albertarelli, Moroni Celsi, Rubino and Tofano; original syndicated strips from the 1930: Sullivan (Felix), Caniff (Terry and the Pirates) and many more.

Italian masters include ltan, Baldazzini, Battaglia, Crepax (Valentina), Gipi, Jacovitti (Zorry Kid), Magnus (Alan Ford), Manara, Micheluzzi, Milazzo, Pazienza, Pratt (Corto Maltese), Serpieri, Sommacal (Cattivik), Tisselli and Toppi.

American masters include Al Capp, Gould, Lubbers (Tarzan), Raymond (Rip Kirby) and Schulz (Peanuts)

A legion of superhero art includes Bianchi, Dell’Otto, McKean, Parrillo and Sienkiewicz (Batman).

Disney masters Bottaro, Bruna, Carpi, Gottfredson and Scarpa will be represented.

Also featured will be Bonelli – original arts for Dylan Dog, Martin Mystère, Nathan Never, La Storia del West, Tex Willer (with the Texone arts by Fabio Civitelli, winner of the 2012 prize for best Italian illustrator; and arts by Aurelio Galleppini).

From the ’50s are original arts and covers for Il Vittorioso by Caesar, Caprioli and Landolfi.

The ’60s have original covers for the Spada editions of Tarzan , L’Uomo Mascherato (The Phantom) and Mandrake.

Masters of the sexy art represented in the auction are Biffignandi, Ciriello, Frollo, Pichard and Studio Rosi.

The auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. Central European Time, 8:30 a.m. Pacific.
