Major collections enhance Jeffrey Evans’ July 30 glass, lighting sale

MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates will conduct their annual summer 19th and 20th century glass and lighting auction on Saturday, July 30, at the firm’s gallery at 2177 Green Valley Lane. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding.

The sale consists of more than 3,000 pieces that will be sold in 709 unreserved lots beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern.

Several longtime collections will be featured including that of Pat and the late Bob Costa of DeLand, Fla., Margaret Ford of Lewisburg, W.Va., and Cay Bettinghaus of Lakewood, Colo.

Collecting categories represented in the auction include a large selection of milk glass consisting of covered animal dishes, rare historical and political related articles and a collection of eggs. Novelty and figural pressed glass include a collection of shoes. There will also be more than 125 Victorian opalescent and opaque syrup pitchers; a selection of other Victorian and art glass including examples of Tiffany and Quezal; early American pattern glass in a wide variety of forms and colors including ruby and amber stained, custard, chocolate and vaseline; Carnival and cut glass; and kerosene period lighting including Victorian opalescent, parlor and hanging lamps, shades and other parts.
