At the top of the scale in size and weight is a flashy 34.58-carat Ethiopian opal (above) that is expected to sell for $1,500-$1,600.
A 19.16-carat bluish-green tourmaline in the sale is valued at $800-$1,000.
An ample supply of diamonds will be going up for bid in this auction of more than 400 lots. An AIG-certified1.32-carat radiant diamond has a $3,000-$3,500 estimate.
Several natural fancy yellow diamonds are available. A 1.75-carat cushion-shape yellow diamond is De Beers certified and estimated at $6,000-$7,000.
Another De Beers-certified natural cushion-shape diamond, this one weighing in a 1.00-carat, has a $9,000-$11,000 estimate due to its vivid yellow color.
Additional large gemstones include a 4.81-carat AIG-certified diamond having a rich chocolate color (est. $13,000-$16,000).
