NEW YORK – A Swiss-made Venus men’s watch in 18K yellow gold and a vintage Rolex Oyster watch in 9K rose gold are two of the many luxury wristwatches in a Jasper52 online auction on Jan. 31. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

The 1970s Venus watch (above) is from a Southern estate and remains in pristine condition. Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1902, the Venus watch company joined an elite group of luxurious Swiss watch-makers who would revolutionize the industry. The watch’s mechanical 19-jewel movement is in perfect working condition. Its case is 35 mm, unusually large for watches of this vintage. The handsome braided solid 18k bracelet is 18mm toward the lugs and tapers to 15mm toward the snap lock on the back. The original dial is in amazing condition with only a tiny smudge at the 6 o’clock indicator. The inside of the case is immaculate. It doesn’t appear to have ever been repaired and is in all original condition. The watch comes with a certified appraisal valuing it at $7,750. It is expected to sell for $4,700-$5,300.

The Rolex Oyster watch (below) features a 15-jewel Prima manual movement with a Plexiglas crystal and a leather aftermarket strap (est. $6,500-$7,500).
