NEW YORK – An outstanding selection of luxury wristwatches will go up for bid in a Jasper52 online auction on Tuesday, May 12. Many of the watches are from world-class Swiss makers, including Rolex, Breitling, Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.
One of the rarest Breitling watches is the Chronomat 801 from 1950s and the example offered in the auction is in very good condition with a well-preserved original dial and hands (above). This handsome timepiece is expected to sell for $10,000-$12,000.
A 1970s Jaeger-LeCoultre Vogue manual-wind watch (below) is presented in an 18K yellow gold case. The back cover of the watch is engraved “F.S. Koruturk,” who was the sixth president of Turkey from 1973 to 1980. The watch has its original leather strap with a Jaeger-LeCoultre buckle (est. $2,000-$2,500).
The top Rolex watch in the sale is an Oyster Perpetual Datejust made in the last nine years. This custom-made watch features an 18K gold bezel with diamonds and a diamond-set dial. In working condition with traces of use, it comes with its original steel bracelet and original box (est. $7,000-$8,000).
Also having a $7,000-$8,000 and in similar condition is an IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Black Dial made since 2011. Its original IWC leather bracelet shows wear on the inner side but has much use left.
A more affordable, but no less stylish, watch in the Jasper52 auction is a Swiss-made Chopard
Mille Miglia Gran Turismo of recent vintage. This watch has its original rubber bracelet with a deployment clasp (est. $2,500-$3,000).
These and more than 30 other luxury watches will cross the auction block on Tuesday, May 6, starting at 9 p.m.
