CHICAGO – On Monday, October 24, Hindman will present the Mike Ditka collection featuring property from an iconic Chicago attraction – Ditka’s Restaurant. Closed in 2020 after 23 years at 100 E. Chestnut St., the Windy City destination hosted countless fans who love both the Bears and the man who helmed the team to their sole Super Bowl victory, Coach Ditka. The auction offers bidders an opportunity to compete for memorabilia from a Chicago legend. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The Mike Ditka collection will offer exceptional collectible material from the walls of the restaurant that contributed to its unique atmosphere. The sale will feature one-of-a-kind items from the renowned football figure’s personal collection once displayed at the restaurant, including the coach’s jersey retirement presentation, the game ball presented to Ditka after the Bears’ dominant Super Bowl XX victory, and numerous trophies awarded during the life and career of the celebrated coach and player.

Highlights also include Mike Ditka’s 1961 Marlboro Award NFL Rookie of the Year trophy, estimated at $2,000-$3,000, and a 1961 Chicago Bears vs. Baltimore Colts team-signed game ball presented to Ditka and estimated at $1,000-$2,000; this is the game ball from the famous October 29, 1961 match-up between the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Colts. Another nostalgic offering is a large painting of Mike Ditka wearing his iconic sunglasses and Bears sweater. Its estimate is $500-$700.
