LOS ANGELES – Abell Auction Co. will present a sale of important 20th Century Design on Tuesday, November 29, with more than 300 lots of art, furniture and luxury goods. Live bidding for the online auction starts at 9 am Pacific time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

A strong selection of furnishings by Hans Wegner, Knoll, Eames, Herman Miller, Sam Maloof, Alvar Aalto, Finn Juhl and Roche Bobois will be offered.

Highlights include a Jorge Zalzupin rosewood desk, estimated at $9,000-$12,000; a Sam Maloof reading stand, estimated at $5,000-$10,000; a Finn Juhl poet settee with an estimate of $4,000-$6,000; a Charles and Ray Eames Billy Wylder lounge, estimated at $2,000-$3,000; and a circa-1950 Walter Lamb chaise lounge that has an estimate of $2,000-$3,000.

The sale also will present original works of art by Mr. Brainwash, Saul Steinberg, Donald Evans, Laddie John Dill, Andre Von Morrise and Curtis Jere. Highlights include Mr. Brainwash’s monumental 2016 work titled Subway Panel, which has an estimate of $80,000-$120,000; an untitled watercolor by Saul Steinberg, estimated at $10,000-$15,000; and Sabot 1925. Dirigible Post by Donald Evans, estimated at $4,000-$6,000.

Prints and multiples by Marc Chagall, Rufino Tamayo, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Erte, Sister Mary Corita Kent and Yaacov Agam will appear in the lineup. Highlights include the Andy Warhol work Cow, which has an estimate of $8,000-$12,000, and a Pablo Picasso Madoura pottery piece titled Chouette (Wood Owl). This last is estimated at $12,000-$18,000.

Also featured are Marc Chagall’s L’ Ange Au Chandelier, estimated at $6,000-$8,000; a Neil Leifer Muhammad Ali aerial shot with an estimate of $3,000-$5,000; and a Roy Lichtenstein with the title Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, estimated at $2,000-$3,000.

Featuring in the category of decorative art include notable pieces such as a Charles and Ray Eames folding screen with an estimate of $1,000-$2,000; a Dale Chihuly set of white jade Persian decorative glass works, estimated at $6,000-$8,000; and a Franco Rocco Scaccomatto chess set that carries an estimate of $1,500-$2,000.
