Creators of fine art glass since 1903 in Corning (Steuben County), New York, Steuben, which closed in 2011, remains a coveted manufacturer. Not one but two examples of Steuben acid cutback cameo art glass vases appear as sequential lots in the sale (lot 100, lot 101). They are both individually estimated at $2,500-$5,000.
A fine Daum Nancy table lamp is a top-estimate item, featuring French cameo art glass depicting a winter scene. Though it requires a complete rewiring, it is otherwise all-original and has an $8,000-$12,000 estimate.
Unusual is a fitting description for this undated Czechoslovakian figural peacock table lamp. Missing a few glass beads, it is estimated at $750-$1,500.
Steuben’s Haviland & Co. line was known for its iridescent Aurene items. From a Kansas collection comes this striking decanter and six-glass set in a gold and melon finish. It carries an estimate of $750-$1,250.
