GLEN COVE, N.Y. – Roland Auctions NY will present its next multi-estates auction on Saturday, August 13 at 1 pm Eastern time. It will feature hundreds of lots of fine and contemporary art, silver, decorative arts, unique Asian items, antique and vintage furniture, jewelry and lighting. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Art highlights include a 1974 portfolio of five screenprints by Romare Bearden (American, 1911-1988), including Salome, Delilah, In The Garden, Prologue to Troy, and Noah, Third Day. Produced by Cordier & Ekstrom and Iver-Sillman, Inc., numbered HC 2/37, and printed by Sirocco Screenprinters, each is pencil-signed by Bearden, and the whole is estimated at $12,000-$15,000.

Sculptures on offer include a Niso Maman (Israeli, b. 1957-) female bust in stone and metal, titled Sequana, and estimated at $2,000-$3,000; as well as a 1981 Dave McGarry (American, 1958-2013), Native American Indian sculpture, Sundance Priest, from his Sundance Series. The patinated bronze is one of an edition of 21, and is estimated at $3,000-$4,000.

Leading the silver choices is a Buccellati set of flatware and serving items in the French Empire pattern. It comprises 150 pieces that are marked “Buccellati Sterling Italy,” which are presented with a Reed & Barton wooden storage case. The Buccellati set weighs in at 267.6 troy ounces and is estimated at $6,000-$8,000.

The decorative arts selections include a pair of Neoclassical-style gilt bronze wine coolers with winged figural handles over mascarons of Bacchus or Dionysus and grape leaf bands over astrological and allegorical cartouches, on associated plinth bases. Its estimate is $3,000-$5,000.

Highlights in antique furniture include an Italian late 16th- or early 17th-century cassettone. It has a chest of drawers made of walnut and burl walnut, and its three drawers sport handles with carved heads and beautiful carved walnut molding, estimated at $4,000-$6,000, while a Persian silk decorated rug with an all-over design and a floral border in deep blues and red is estimated at $6,000-$8,000.
