New River Auctions to host Bahamas hurricane relief event Oct. 4

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Artists, galleries and collectors are coming together on Oct. 4 to raise funds for the Hurricane Dorian ravaged Bahamas with Hope 4 Hope Town, a benefit fine art auction. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Works from 20th century, pop and contemporary artists will be included in the sale with 100 percent of funds raised benefitting Hope 4 Hope Town, a 501(c)(3) fund dedicated to hurricane relief efforts in the northern Bahamas.

“So many in the art industry want to help and now, with this auction, there is a way for us to make a difference,” said Lisa Burgess, president of New River Auctions and New River Fine Art Inc. who is organizing the auction on behalf of Hope 4 Hope Town. “The outpouring of generosity has been amazing, and we will continue to accept donations of quality works from 20th century, pop, postwar, contemporary and street artists until Sept. 30th.”

All the money raised will be donated to Hope 4 Hope Town, a 501(c)(3) fund set up to address both the immediate and long-term needs associated with the rebuilding of Hope Town and other Northern Bahamas islands devastated by one of the most catastrophic storms on record.

Everyone who donates art will receive recognition in the LiveAuctioneers catalog and will ship the work directly to the winning bidder.
