Oakwood Auctions mounts huge stamp and coin sale June 29
STOUFFVILLE, Ontario – Oakwood Auctions will conduct its Spring Stamps, Coins & Collectibles auction on Saturday, June 29, beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
Many Canadian stamps are featured beginning with Lot 18A, a Province of Canada 1857 7 1/2d Green S/C #9 MLH VF. Well centered and fresh, this stamp has a Unitrade 2019 catalog value of $12,000 (above).
A beautiful stamp with a catalog value of $2,500 is Lot 516, a Canada 6c S/C #27 MLH VF OG.
The auction is composed of nearly 800 lots. There are Canadian provincial stamps and collections; rare first day covers including Lot 60, a Canada 50 cent Unitrade #176 EF First Day Cover dated Dec. 4, 1930; and worldwide stamps and collections including Lot 105, an Italy S/C #17/A4 Bister MH VF, which is a rare stamp with a catalog value of $8,000.
Many ICCS-certified Canadian coins and collections including a 1945 silver dollar ICCS AU50 and a 1943 50 cent Near 3 ICCS MS64.
There are lots of foreign coins including collections from China, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, and Sweden.
Also included are many Chinese coin collections including Lot 755, which is a collection from as early as A.D. 618, as well as rare ancient Chinese bronze coins.
