NEW YORK – Roland Auctions NY will present a prodigious estate auction on Saturday, Jan. 6. The marathon sale boasts nearly 900 fresh-to-market lots comprising luxury items from prestigious Manhattan estates, Wilton, Conn., Long Island, N.Y., and West Hollywood, Calif. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Roland’s two floors of galleries are bursting with multiple objects of much strength across a wide spectrum of collecting areas.

Highlights include contemporary artist Korakrit Arunanondchai’s mixed media Korakrit Triptych (above) and a blue topaz torsade by Mish (below).

Already generating great interest are works of fine art spanning paintings, prints, photographs, and sculptures only now available to the marketplace after decades of private ownership. This month’s estate pieces span European Old Master works through modern vanguards.

Additional highlights include an ornate Continental .800 Silver four-piece tea service (weighing 117.75 troy ounces, a Reed and Barton sterling Francis I flatware service, Louis Comfort Tiffany Furnaces table lamp and bronze mounted vase and Yayoi Kusama’s large Soft Pumpkin sculpture.

Ceramics featured in the auction include Royal Copenhagen, Lladro, Royal Worcester, Beswick Royal Doulton, Bottger Steinzeug Meissen and a large KPM portrait plaque among others.

Fresh-to-market Chinese and Asian Art is represented by utilitarian, ceremonial and devotional objects accomplished variously in bronze, ceramic, glass, enamel, quartz and jade accompanied by a selection of paintings. Included in this category are multiple Chinese Cultural Revolution items.
