Also offered in the Feb. 23 auction are fine Iranian hand-knotted Persian carpets in all sizes and colors, Baccarat and Waterford crystal, a rare midcentury sterling silver and robin’s-egg blue champleve enamel “Papyrus” necklace that was hand wrought in Taxco, Mexico, by Margot Van Voorhies Carr of Margot de Taxco, Bakelite and vintage Jewelry, Carnival glass and much more. Artists whose works are included in the auction include Edwin Lord Weeks (American, 1849-1903), Antoinette Francesca Guerard Rhett (Charleston, 1884-1964), William Henry Crome (British, 1806-1867), James Stark (British, 1794-1859), Amano Kazumi (1927-2001), Felix François Georges Philibert Ziem (1821-1911), Frederick Mershimer (b. 1958 American) and many other listed artists.
For historic Charleston collectors, there will be several items from the local estate of Dr. Fraser Wilson. He is remembered for his love of antiques and his dedication to Charleston’s history and material culture. Dr. Wilson was a Life Trustee of Historic Charleston Foundation and opened his historic home for tours for 39 years.

– Lot 105: American 19th-century oil on canvas portrait of George Washington after Gilbert Charles Stuart (American 1755-1828). The unsigned painting (above) is in a carved giltwood frame that measures 35 by 40 by 3 inches (est. $5,000-$7,000).
– Lot 119: Monumental 19th century Hudson River School, Luminist oil on canvas(below), a landscape with cows and stream. The painting is in an ornate carved giltwood frame that measures 68 by 47 by 5 inches (est. $5,000-$7,000).
– Lot 124: Room-size, hand-knotted Tabriz hunting rug made in Iran in the mid-20th century. The design depicts deer and birds on a red ground with teal borders. The wool rug measures 120½ inches by 170½ (est. $2,500-$3,500).
– Lot 134: Alfred Heber Hutty (Charleston, S.C., 1877-1954), signed print after an etching, Southern Villa, No 1, view of a Carolina cabin. The image measures 7¾ by 6½. It is in a gallery frame and mat from the Schramm Galleries in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., that measures 18 by 16 by 1¾ inches.
