Paintings, watches just the start of Jenack’s auction March 13

CHESTER, N.Y. – William Jenack Estate Appraisers and Auctioneers will conduct an early spring sale Sunday, March 13, at their New York facility and with on-line bidding through LiveAuctioneerrs. The sale will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern.

The sale will include several lots of vintage watches, jewelry, Chinese art, silver, 19th and 20th century furniture and decorative accessories, carpets, sculpture and more.

The sale is set to include over 60 lots of artwork from the 19th through 20th centuries. Artists such as Peter Max, Samuel Spode, Albert Nemethy, Gay Candelis, Peter Williams, Samuel Rothbort will be offered.

The Nemethy family has made a name for themselves in the Hudson Valley as painters of local sites and history. The Nemethy canvas Jenack we will be offering is of the historic Hudson River paddle wheeler Mary Powell. The Samuel Spode work is of the famous racehorse Favonius. The Peter Max is a mixed medium work and part of his Statue of Liberty series.

Jenack will again offer a selection vintage timepieces and writing instruments. Watches of note include Rolex Tudors, 18K Movado, Breitling Top Time Chronograph, 18K Gubelin Special Time, Omega Flightmaster, Hamilton Chrono-Matic Fontainebleau and many others. Writing implements will include Montblanc no. 149, Sheaffer sterling filigree, S.T. Dupont and several other Montblanc models.

In accessories the top item would be a Tiffany Studios bronze tulip table lamp no. 310 with Tiffany Favrille glass shades. It will carry an estimate of $10,000-$15,000.

The sale also has a small collection of vintage Belleek porcelain, a pair of Victorian gilt decorated cranberry glass covered urns, Chinese porcelains, bronzes, carpets, rugs and much more.

This is an eclectic sale with something for everyone and a price range that all can afford.

Preview will be held at the William Jenack auction facility located at 62 Kings Highway Bypass, Chester, NY 10918, Wednesday–Saturday, March 9–12, noon to 5 p.m.; day of sale 9-10:45 a.m.
