Paperweight collection to open Jeffrey Evans sale March 23-24

MT. CRAWFORD, Va. – Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates will continue the dispersal of the massive 65-year collection assembled by Barbara Sisson of Charleston, W.V., in a two-day single-owner auction on March 23 and 24 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Eastern each day. Mrs. Sisson collected across numerous categories and was a noted author and researcher of American paperweights. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Session one will feature over 2,000 antique, vintage, and studio paperweights including Baccarat, Clichy, St. Louis, Boston & Sandwich Glass Co., New England Glass Co., Kaziun, Ysart, Millville/South Jersey, an extensive selection of Degenhart, St. Clair, Blenko, Pairpoint, English, Italian and advertising. Also listed are historical/figural glass including World’s Fair and political as well as a large collection of Degenhart figural glass in every color made, most purchased directly from Elizabeth Degenhart.

Session two will feature over 300 antique pocket watches of all types plus watch chains and accessories.

The session will also have more than 1,500 antique/vintage hatpins and stickpins, plus holders; a huge collection of vintage costume jewelry including Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Czech, Austrian, 100s of glass-bead necklaces, signed designer, mid-century, sterling silver, Victorian and fine jewelry including cameos, painted porcelain, bar pins, diamond and other rings.
