NEW YORK – More than 200 lots will tantalize bidders at Doyle New York‘s April 20 Prints & Multiples sale. The catalog includes artworks ranging from the 17th century to the 21st, and from works on paper to ceramics. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Standouts include Joan Miro’s Barcelona VIII, an early 1970s print signed and issued in a limited edition of 50. The vibrant and sizable abstract — it measures 27 5/8 by 41 1/2 inches — carries an estimate of $15,000-$20,000. Collectors of Picasso ceramics will delight in a 1954 pitcher created at the Madoura pottery and standing slightly higher than 11 inches. Titled Pichet Gris Grave (Alain Ramie 246), it comes from an edition of 500 and is estimated at $12,000-$18,000.

Roy Lichtenstein’s Crying Girl (Corlett II.1), a classic Lichtenstein image of a weeping blonde, is estimated at $20,000-$30,000. The color offset lithograph was published in 1963 through the Leo Castelli gallery in an unknown edition size. A cheerful Marc Chagall color lithograph from 1964, L’Ecuyere (Mourlot 419), number 37 of 50, is estimated at $7,000-$10,000.

Also on offer is a 1922 color lithograph by Wassily Kandinsky, titled Kleine Welten IV (Roethell 167) and issued in an edition of 200. It is expected to sell for $7,000-$10,000. Jacob Lawrence’s 1975 color screenprint Confrontation at the Bridge, from the Not Songs of Loyalty Alone: The Struggle for Personal Freedom series, is number six from an edition of 175 and estimated at $8,000-$10,000. Rounding out the highlights is Mabel Dwight’s 1929 lithograph, Harlem Rent Party. Signed and dated and from an edition of 44, it could command $1,000-$1,500.
