SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – Turner Auctions + Appraisals will present an online sale titled Fine Art, Jewelry & Collectibles on Saturday, December 17. More than 310 diverse lots will be offered, with absentee and Internet live bidding available through LiveAuctioneers.

Leading the many and varied jewelry choices is a circa-1970s-1980s 18k gold LOVE bracelet by the famed jewelry house Cartier. It features screw motifs and closure and is accompanied by a screwdriver that is visible in the photo below. It bears a Cartier signature, has an inner circumference of 6 1/2in, and moderate wear is visible. The LOVE bracelet has an estimate of $2,000-$3,000.

Among the intriguing objects on offer is a circa-1945-1946 Gibson L-7 arch top sunburst acoustic guitar with a Lifton case, the whole carrying an estimate of $4,000-$6,000. Inside it sports an oval white paper label that states Serial number: 99191 / Gibson, Inc./ Kalamazoo, Mich. Its condition is described as being good overall, with scratches, scuffing and wear to the surface of the body and light scuffing to the sides and back. The pick guard presents with cracking.

Equally worthy of attention is lot 153, an 18th-century Chinese Export oval platter graced with a hand-painted gilt floral pattern rim and a central armorial decoration with an eagle’s head. It measures 17 3/4 by 13 3/4in and is unmarked, but a faded handwritten note taped on its back partially reads: ” … bgt at Manheim’s & is a collectors item…” Its condition is good overall, with wear to the glaze, mostly at the center of the armorial motif. There are two small surface chips on its rim, but otherwise no chips or cracks have been found. Its estimate is $800-$1,200.

A standout among the fine art choices in the December 17 sale is the Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) print Akasaka Kiribatake (Paulownia Plantation at Akasaka), from the series Meisho Edo hyakkei, which translates as 100 Famous Views of Edo. Created in 1856, the oban tate-e print measures 18 1/4 by 14 1/4in in its frame. Described as being in good condition, it is estimated at $1,000-$2,000.

Rounding out the highlights is an oil-on-canvas floral still life by Jane Peterson (1876-1965), a vibrant, painterly, well-observed work dating to the early or mid-20th century. It measures 20 by 22in alone and 25 1/2 by 28in framed, and it is signed at the lower right. As for condition, there is an area of paint loss or chipping and there is slight surface cracking at the left side of the bouquet. The still life has an estimate of $4,000-$6,000.
