HONG KONG – Poly Auction Hong Kong, Asia’s premier auction house, specializes in five segments: modern and contemporary art, Chinese paintings, Chinese ceramics and works of art, jewels and prestige collections and important wine, spirits and Chinese tea. Their Oct. 7 auctions feature three of these categories: Magnificent Jewels (beginning at 2 a.m. U.S. Eastern time), Important Watches (3 p.m. Eastern) and Noble Handbags and Hype Collectibles (7 p.m. Eastern). More than 200 lots of luxury and designer jewelry comprise the jewelry sale. One of the featured lots is a suite of Colombian emerald and diamond jewelry by Harry Winston. The necklace is set with seven rectangular-shaped emeralds of 86.10 carats in total, decorated with 258 round, marquise and pear-shaped diamonds. The ring is centered by an octagonal-shaped emerald of 16.32 carats, flanked by 14 marquise, round and baguette-cut diamonds. The bracelet is set with seven octagonal-shaped emeralds of 30.95 carats and 63 marquise, pear and round diamonds. Completing the set is a pair of ear pendants set with four emeralds weighing 35.97 carats, decorated with 24 round, marquise and pear-shaped diamonds, all set in 18K gold (est. HK$20million-$HK28million/US$2.55 million-US$3.57 million).

In the watch sale, a rare Rolex stands out with its rainbow-colored baguette-cut sapphire set bezel and a 40mm yellow gold case and bracelet. It comes with a Rolex international guarantee card and presentation box (est.HK$1.4 million-HK$2 million/US$178,500-US$255,000).

Approximately 125 Hermes handbags are offered in the final sale of the day. Included is an emerald-colored niloticus crocodile Birkin 30 with gold hardware (est.HK $300,000-$400,000/US$38,250-US$51,000).
