NEW YORK – “We’re in the money! … We’ve got a lot of what it takes to get along!” The lyrics of The Gold Diggers’ Song from the Warner Bros. film Gold Diggers of 1933 are appropriate in describing the Jasper52 online-auction of 250 vintage rare coins on Saturday, April 29. Collector-quality gold and silver coins – U.S. and foreign – will be rolling to the highest bidders. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Several factors make the 1859 U.S. $3 Princess gold coin (above) a rare find. The coins were not widely used in the Eastern U.S. and were largely unpopular. Collectors have since changed the status of this attractive design. The coin is sometime referred to as a “Copper Spot” gold coin gold coin because it is composed of 90 percent gold and 10 percent copper and silver.

The auction will open with a rare 1955 Double Die Lincoln cent, a rare error that is is estimated to sell for up to $7,000.

A second 1955 double die Lincoln cent (below) could sell for upward of $7,770.

“We’re in the money!
Come on, my honey!
Let’s lend it, spend it, send it rollin’ around!”

The Jasper52 auction will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.
