Rare, unusual antiques in store at Stevens auction April 9

ABERDEEN, Miss. – Hundreds of antiques and collectible items, pulled from prominent estates and collections throughout the South, will be sold in a spring auction planned for Saturday, April 9, at Stevens Auction Co. starting at 9 a.m. Central time.

Absentee and Internet live will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.

Offered will be period American furniture by renowned 19th century makers such as John Henry Belter, J. & J.W. Meeks, Alexander Roux, Herter Brothers and Pottier & Stymus, as well as heavily carved beds and bedroom suites, period French furniture, antique lamps and lighting, and decorative items.

Noteworthy lots will feature a 1936 Ford sedan with all-original interior and a recent paint job. The vehicle has been garage kept for the past 65 years.

Also in the sale is a Victorian giraffe piano (below) in a harp-form mahogany case, 8 feet 9 inches tall, signed by Frank Teupe and one of only seven made.
