NEW YORK – Nearly 350 lots of collectible coins are offered in a Jasper52 online auction that will take place Wednesday, May 20. The diversity of this auction is revealed with coins from the United States, Denmark, Korea, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Great Britain, Australia and beyond. One of the top lots in the auction is from ancient Persia, a rare Kingdom of Vadfrad; ad I 3-early 2 cents (above). The head of Vadfradad (Autophradates) I, wearing a kyrbasia, is depicted on the obverse. The Fire Temple of Ahura-Mazda is the central image on the reverse. The coin is struck in sculptural high relief and attractively toned. It is expected to sell for $2,500-$3,000.

A large 1707 Papal States silver piastra pictures Pope Clement XI, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church from 1700-1721. This rare coin has a $1,000-$1,200 estimate.
