NEW YORK – Roland Auctions NY will conduct their “July 2015 Auction” on Saturday, July 11, commencing at 10 a.m. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding. This is the first of three summer sales to be hosted by Manhattan’s only downtown auction house, and Roland Auctions NY anticipates another strong sale.

“When my brother Billy and I conceived of a new auction house in the city, nearly five years ago, we wholly intended it to be an all-seasons enterprise,” said co-owner Robert Roland. “This month we are offering close to 1,000 lots,” Roland continued, “that reflect the unique breadth and scope of estate collections that can only be found in the metropolitan New York City area. Summertime is typically a slow period for most regional auction houses and many either scale back or halt their operations entirely until the fall. Our strategy from the outset has been to take advantage of this lull and present to the marketplace some of the best merchandise to be found from our sources both nationally and internationally.”

In addition to the European and South American consignments represented in this sale, the July auction will offer luxury items of the first order from prestigious Manhattan estates.

An example in the fine arts category already creating its own buzz is a rare and important George Bellows lithograph numbered, titled, and signed in the artist’s hand “No. 2 / Preliminaries to The Big Bout / George Bellows” and is expected to fetch between $30,0000 and $40,000.
