NEW YORK – Roland Auction will hold their final auction of 2013 on Saturday, Dec. 14. This outstanding sale ends an exceptional year of auctions in great style. With over 1,000 lots, it offers a dazzling array of silver, jewelry, furniture, fine art and collectible objects. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding.

“This is a wonderful gift-buying opportunity” say Robert Roland. “There are so many outstanding opportunities to acquire great pieces of jewelry, silver trinkets and other unique holiday gifts. We think our clients will be very happy with this month’s estate selections.”

Featured in the auction is the estate of Irwin and Rita Margolis, highly regarded as antique dealers for many decades. Their collection includes over 300 Victorian through Art Deco silver articles such as scent bottles, dresser sets, nutmeg graters, cigarette and other cases, minaudieres and much more. Stylish porcelain pieces, vintage fashion accessories including crocodile handbags, Judith Lieber items, vintage sunglasses, as well as a large collection of 1920s/30s Italian glass grapevine lamps round out the collection.

Another noteworthy estate included in the auction is that of legendary impresario Paul Szilard. Known for his work with the American Ballet Theater, Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey and many other New York City dance companies, Szilard’s collection offers lots of dance related memorabilia as well as traditional and modern furniture and decorations.

From yet a third estate is a tremendous collection of Japanese and Chinese antiques. This outstanding collection of jades, Meiji bronze vases, fine lacquer work, silver and other rare objects was assembled in the 1930s and not since been offered in the marketplace. With over 100 choice lots, collectors are sure to compete for many of these Asian treasures.

Modern art and design continues to be an important feature at Roland. Some highlights from the Dec. 14 sale include a Tommi Parzinger dining table and chairs, stylish American and Scandinavian examples, Andy Warhol and Lichtenstein prints, and a host of other worthy pieces.

The auction begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
