NEW YORK – For anyone searching for floor covering for their palace, Jasper52’s Persian and Asian rug auction Jan. 14 features large room-size choices – some of them antique. There are also smaller rugs to spuce up any space. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.com.

Among the finest is a Garrous Bijar Gol Farang rug (above) made in the 1870s in Persia (Iran). It measures nearly 12 by 15 feet and has a $10,000-$15,000 estimate.

Larger still is a Persian Nain rug (below) in a rare large size: 11 feet 9 inches by 17 feet 8 inches. It carries an $8,000-$12,000 estimate.

A Chinese Peking Art Deco geometric trellis rug (below), circa 1950, measures 11 feet 6 inches by 16 feet 10 inches. It is expected to sell for $4,500-$6,000.

Considered semi-antique is a 1930s Sharabian Heriz rug that measures about 11 by 15 feet and has an $8,000-$12,000 estimate.

A Persian Tabriz rug of lamb’s wool on a cotton foundation and colored with natural vegetable dye, about 11.7 by 10 feet, carries a $3,500-$5,000 estimate. It features beautifully executed geometric borders.

Dating to the early 1900s is a Persian Qashqai rug (below) in vivid colors and measuring 4 1/2 feet by 7 1/4.
