MIAMI – An important painting has been added to the Dynasty Fine Arts online auction that will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 19. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Smooth Guitar by contemporary Cuban artist Jose Ignacio Sanchez Rius, better known as Josignacio, will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid those affected by Hurricane Irma. Absentee and Internet bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.com.

Josignacio’s work is divided into series, one of the most iconic being his guitars.

On March 10, 2016, a painting by Josignacio titled Music is Timeless, dated 1989, was sold for a hammer price of $3.5 million at the McCarthy-Williams Auctions in London. It is now the most expensive painting in the world by a living Latin artist.

Mauro Jimenez of Dynasty Fine Art has picked Smooth Guitar from his personal collection. It comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Smooth Guitar, which measures 96 by 48 inches, will be shipped UPS at the buyer’s expense.

It is one of more than 200 paintings, prints and sculptures in Tuesday’s auction.
