Scale-model automobilia treasures lined up for July 6 auction

NEW YORK – On Wednesday, July 6, starting at noon Eastern time, Jasper52 will conduct a sale titled Automobilia, Collectibles and More! Its 193 lots are dominated by scale models of beloved cars from celebrated marques. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

A wide range of makers of scale model cars are represented in the July 6 auction. Leading the choices from Top Models is a 1:12 version of a 1994 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera coupe in silver, and a second one in black; a Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution II Verde York at the same scale; and a 1:12 scale Audi RS2 in a particularly vivid shade of blue.

Offerings from Otto Mobile include a 1989 BMW M3 E30 DTM Warsteiner Ravaglia #15 at 1:12 scale, as well as a 1967 Otto Mobile Shelby GT500 at the same scale. Among the contributions from Norev, all in 1:18 scale, are a Mercedes-Benz 190E W201 in diamond blue; a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 W186 in dark red; and a 1968 Mercedes-Benz 200 in a similar shade of red.

Equally notable are select prizes from other scale model makers, such as AUTOart’s 1:18-scale Aston Martin Vanquish S 2017; a Bentley Continental GT3 Team Bentley #107 at 1:18 scale from Top Speed; LS Collectibles’s 1:18-scale rendition of a red 1982 Jaguar XJ6; 12Art’s take on the 1959 Jaguar MK2 with a gold metallic chassis, and at 1:12 scale; and also a 2013 Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT by Schuco at the same scale.

The July 6 lineup also features a scale model of a boat, a Riva Aquarama AS182, rendered by Authentic Models. Many of the collectibles on offer, even those with a Disney Pixar connection, relate back to cars. A standout in that category is an Ayrton Senna-themed lithograph by Eric Jan Kremer.

A highlighted lot certain to race to a new garage is a 1:12-scale limited edition model of a 1959 Jaguar MK2 by 12Art. Made from resin and shown with what appears to be its original box, it is estimated at $450-$550.

A second highlight is the limited edition 1:12 scale model of a 1994 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera coupe in silver, created by Top Models. It, too, was made from resin, and its estimate is $500-$600.

Sailing in to claim the third and last of the highlight berths is a Riva Aquarama AS182 scale model (ratio not specified) by Authentic Models. Made by hand and meticulously detailed, it carries an estimate of $600-$700.
