Showplace Antique & Design salutes Asia Week with March 27 auction

Several excellent examples of Chinese Tang Dynasty (618-907) pottery are featured, including a sancai-glazed horse estimated $70,000-$75,000 and a pair of prancing horses with traces of light red pigment estimated $18,000-$20,000.
A finely carved Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) rhinoceros horn ceremonial cup with an incised figural landscape is another sale highlight, estimated $30,000-$40,000.
Among the many jade pieces being auctioned is a 19th-century white nephrite jade snuff bottle with turquoise stopper, incised with longevity character and dragon, estimated at $5,500-$6,500.
Rare Chinese silk paintings are also up for sale, including a Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) scroll painting of a mountain landscape estimated $11,000-$12,000 and a large 19th-century painting with figural scene, framed and mounted on wood, estimated $6,000-$8,000.
