NEW YORK – Exquisite sterling silver services, colorful glass, Russian enamel centerpieces, and even a Georg Jensen flatware set are among the treasures offered in an Exceptional Decorative Art & Silver auction that will be conducted online by Jasper52 on Tuesday, March 19. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.

Topping the list silver treasures is a six-piece French Art Deco sterling tea set made by Auguste Leroy circa 1925 (above). The stylish set is marked 925 silver except for the tray, which is silverplate (est. $9,000-$11,000).

Another collector’s item is a Russian cigar and tobacco box crafted by Gustav Klingert in the 1870s (below). The box bears the maker’s mark and “84,” a Russian hallmark designating the purity of the silver. It weighs 441.8 grams (est. $8,000-$10,000).

Also from the Art Deco era is an opalescent glass charger by Pierre D’Avesn, who was an apprentice to Rene Lalique at the age of 14 years. The 15-inch charger, which is relief molded with a large bird of paradise, flower heads and scrolling ferns, has a molded signature ($1,500-$2,000).

Fast forward to the 1960s, the auction features a mid-century modern eyeball-style table lamp made of metal with a chrome finish. Its six arms are attached to an 8-inch diameter base. The lamp is wired to U.S. standards and is in working condition (est. $300-$350).

A few pieces of antique furniture are presented in the Jasper52 auction, none grander than the elegant 1890s French Empire-style bench that features a solid wood frame finished in a lacquered provincial color with a rich shine. The frame features stunning ormolu accents on the top, sides, arm columns, and bottom. There are depictions of flowers, leaves and human figures. Along the bottom of the bench is a large bronze ormolu accent of two cherubs lighting a torch while holding up a garland of acanthus leaves and flowers. The bench seat and back has recently been professionally reupholstered with double piping trim details (est. $1,200-$1,500).

A great find from a chateau in the South of France is gold-plated bronze and red Languedoc marble French Empire mantel clock. From one of the country’s premier clockmakers, “Chartenay a Versailles,” the timepiece is typical of those found in the Palace of Versailles, circa 1810 (est. $13,000-$16,000).

The aforementioned Georg Jensen set consists of 149 pieces of sterling silver flatware in the Cypress pattern. It is contained in a Chas W. Wolf, New York, case. Estimate: $11,000-$13,000
